Saturday started of bad enough with both my initial selections running poorly, and Brae Hill winning at a very good price (I selected him last year nearly every time he ran and made a nice profit). Ranoma Chase came in a good 3rd at a big price . Kasbah Bliss ran a great race in the unfortunately re arranged Gold Cup, defying his years to finish a very close 5th. Await the Dawn went out like a light after leading from the start and there was obviously a serious problem with the horse, and he looks unlikely to ever fill that potential. Thankfully Monteresso ended the night spectacularly with a scintillating win at what seemed a big price for one that was 3rd in the same race last year.

In the Pricewise Challenge, he had all losses yesterday but was defiantly very unlucky with Captain Bertie, who should have won with loads in had but for an unlucky passage.

Thanks to Monteresso the challenge has started well, with the score standing at +23.6 to -5
